The Rocky Mountain Region’s largest biking
event, the Compass Bank Elephant Rock ride is
June 3. The event attracts more than 7,000
cyclists of all ages and skills. The event covers four
road courses and two off-road or “fat tire”courses.
The courses are on road and dirt.
The ride begins and ends at the
Douglas County Fairgrounds, where riders can
camp the night before the ride and party and
cycling expo afterward.
Riders can register online for the 20th anniversary
cycling festival at www.elephantrockride.com. Registration
includes an event T-shirt, water bottle, a goodie
bag and refreshments during the ride. For more

An early morning ride through Colorado
Springs June 16. Ride be gins at midnight
Saturday. Registration and packet pick up starts at
10 p.m. The pre-ride party also starts at 10 p.m.
The ride is a benefit for Trails and Open Space

- Ride the Rockies - June 17 -June 23. As of early
May, the registration was closed for this year.
- Great-West Life MS 150 Bike Tour presented by
Subaru July 7-8. In its 22nd year, Colorado’s MS 150
Bike tour starts and ends at the Broomfield Event
Center. The ride goes north by northwest along the

- Pikes Peak Classic, Aug. 12. A benefit for the
Southern Colorado AIDS Project, the classic
begins and ends on the campus at the University
of Colorado at Colorado Springs. The ride can be
three distances, 35, 65 or 100 miles and is a rainor-
