18 and 99 who wants to jump from
an airplane safely with no training.
For anyone who dreams of jumping
from a height of more than 11,000
feet, freefalling for almost a minute
and floating to the earth suspended
from a parachute, Colorado has three
options to indulge your dream with
no instruction necessary.
Visit one of Colorado’s three skydiving
facilities to offer freefalls with only
minutes of pre-jump preparation.
With nothing more than a reservation
and a pair of tennis shoes, jumpers
are given a few minutes of instruction,
enter the plane and in short
order are jumping from a height of
about 11,500 feet. Freefall for 35-45
seconds and, with the help of your
tandem partner, enjoy a 5-minute
float to earth.
At Colorado Sky Sports in Boulder,
spectators can enjoy a spectacular
lakeside view where participants float
over the Boulder Reservoir and land
within walking distance of their party.
Minutes away, at the Mile High
Skydiving Center in Longmont, enjoy a
view of the Front Range as you float
safely attached to your instructor.
Some of the state’s most amazing
mountain views from the eagle’s view
are at Skydive the Rockies, where customers
fly out of planes at the Fremont
County Airport in Canyon City.
Each company offers certification
courses for those who are interested
in taking skydiving as a hobby.
Certification is commonly available
within 10 jumps, and the first two
jumps are conducted in tandem with
an instructor.

most adventurous at heart. Most

including graduations and milestone

years old to jump.
