November: Starlighting at Castle Rock. Annual traditional
lighting of the star on Castle Rock, with carols and a
Santa visit, followed by a chili dinner sponsored by the Fire

Nov. 23: Littleton Candlelight Walk. Hundreds of people,
often three generations, bundle up and head for Main
Street by 6 p.m. They carry candles and flashlights and
await the arrival of Santa on a brightly decorated antique
fire truck. The crowd follows Santa to the west end of Main
Street, singing carols. A child is chosen to help Santa flip a
switch to turn on the community tree. Littleton’s brightly
lighted Main Street draws visitors throughout the season.

Nov. 30 at 8 p.m., Dec. 1 at 6 p.m.: Denver Parade of
Lights Starts in downtown Denver at the Civic Center and
rides a two-mile route through downtown. A map can be
found on the Web. A Grandstand seat can be purchased
near the brightly-lighted City and County Building. For a

December: Electric Safari at the Cheyenne Zoo in
Colorado Springs (www.cmzoo.org) and Wildlights at the
Denver Zoo (www.denverzoo.org) offer a magical visit with
the animals after dark.
December: Blossoms of Light at Denver Botanic
Gardens offers a winter stroll.
Early December: The Annual Georgetown Christmas
Market features an outdoor European Christmas Market
with a Victorian flavor, carolers, St. Nicholas, roasted chestnuts, horse-drawn wagon rides through town, high tea at
Grace Hall. Visitors can tour the historic buildings, decorated
