Lake Pueblo State Park is best known for its 4,600-surface-
acre reservoir and spectacular hiking among the pinon
juniper trees.
The state park offers multiple activities for the entire
family, including boating, waterskiing, sailing, swimming,
fishing, camping and hiking. The 64 miles of shoreline
along the reservoir is complemented by more than 25
square miles of semi-arid desert land.
The reservoir was created by a dam across the Arkansas
River. Downstream from the reservoir dam is a recreation
area with a swim beach, bathhouse area and fish hatchery.
From I-25, go west for four miles on U.S. 50, then go
south on Pueblo Boulevard for four miles. Turn west on
Thatcher Avenue and travel six miles to the park entrance.
