Castle Rock is coming into its own as an
arts community. Initiated 18 years ago, the
town’s Artfest attracts more than 25,000 visitors
in the two-day event in September.
With at least 180 artists from all over the
United States showing their work, the Artfest
unites the casual observer with the dedicated
art collector.
A street festival on the streets of Castle
Rock, the fest features live stage entertainment,
strolling musicians, a children’s imagination
zone.
Two local breweries, Jarre Creek and
Rockyard Brewing Co., provide beverages
while a variety of vendors offer ethnic and
American taste treats. The jazz band Dotsero
returns by popular demand on Saturday
afternoon.
This year the festival moves to the Castle
Rock Town Hall and Philip S. Miller Library.
The fest is from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sept. 8 and 9
a.m. to 5 p.m. Sept. 9. Admission is $4 for
adults, $3 for seniors and free for children
younger than 12.
