The Denver Art Museum has a variety
of things to do and look at “whether
it’s a family with kids, a couple or
someone traveling alone,”said museum
spokesperson Rose Beetem.
During regular hours — Tuesdays
and Thursdays, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.,
Wednesdays and Fridays 10 a.m. to 10
p.m., Saturdays and Sundays 9 a.m. to 5
p.m. and closed Mondays — the
museum has family activities on every
floor, including eye-spy games, artmaking
and puzzles. The museum is
closed on Thanksgiving and Christmas.
Tours throughout the day include the
architecture tour with highlights on the
Hamilton Building and a collection
highlight tour, which includes modern
and contemporary African, Oceanic and
Western art. There is also a tour of the
North Building with highlights on the
painting and sculpture, Asian, New
World and American Indian art galleries.
Special exhibitions come to the
museum throughout the year.
Exhibitions this summer are included in
the museum admission and include
Japanese Art from the Colorado
Collection of Kimiko and John Powers,
and RADAR: Selections from the
Collection of Vicki and Kent Logan.
Free general admission is offered to
Colorado residents on the first Saturday
of each month.
Members get in free, $10 Colorado
adults, $13 non-resident adults, $8
Colorado seniors 65+, $10 non-resident
seniors, $3 Colorado youth ages 6-
18, $5 non-resident youth ages 6-18,
kids 5 and younger get in free.
